How is it used for Fundraising?

The Jatly smartphone app is a community communication tool, where local businesses can advertise.  The advertisements are in the form of coupons sent to the phone user. When the user receives a coupon – which usually come through in batches of about 4 at a time, they show up in the phone’s notification bar.  They then select the notification and the phone will display each coupon in turn about 2 seconds apart. As each coupon is reviewed, the user taps the big accept button to move to the next one, and that tap – earns the school the value that is displayed against the coupon – normally around ten points.  So to accept 4 coupons will take you about 10 seconds, and you will earn about 40 points or about 40 cents..

Jatly Fundraiser Overview

When a smartphone user downloads the Jatly app from the Google Play Store or App Store, they select the Community Organisation they would like to benefit from the commission earned.

The Jatly app will send up to 12 coupons per phone per day, usually in batches of about 4 at a time, depending on the number of advertisers targeting their local geographic area.  Allowing each phone the chance to earn around $1 a day worth of points, for their nominated Beneficiary.

To earn the points for their chosen beneficiary, the Smartphone user needs to press the Accept button to show they have read the coupon.

This confirmation step is what gives this advertising medium an edge over other advertising methods.
